Is your refrigerator running?

Is your refrigerator running? Well, mine wasn't. At least not cooling and freezing like it's supposed to. Last night, shortly before midnight, I noticed a bucket of water in my freezer where my ice was supposed to be. We hadn't been home all day and the last time I had opened it was the night before and I think everything was fine then. Luckily there is an emergency maintenance number I can call so I put in a request for repair/replacement.

A maintenance worker called a little while later and said he could have it replaced around 8:30 am. I told him I wouldn't be there and he was fine with having to move my food for me. Normally I don't let maintenance workers come in my home when I'm not there but I wasn't going to miss a Saturday of shop hopping!

I came home and saw that, for the most part, he did what he could. He swept up all that used to be under the refrigerator into a pile and he remembered to let the cat out of the bathroom. My biggest disappointment is that the appliance is considerably smaller and it's missing the ice bucket in the freezer. It's older and a little banged up too.

I don't like to be a complainer but if I was here when he brought it in I would have asked for another one. But now that it is already in my kitchen I'm not sure I can trade it. I'm going to call the office Monday morning anyway. I don't think I should have to downgrade my refrigerator just because my other one broke down :/

  1. I totally understand! This is actually the problem that forced us to move out of our apartment in Salinas. Its like no one understands how important a working refrigerator is!
